Samuel Richard Standridge, Sr., age 78 of Commerce, GA passed away Thursday, May 2, 2019.
Born on April 20, 1941 in Commerce, GA, he was the son of the late Ruel and Annie Blalock Standridge. He was a textile laborer with Harmony Grove and Jefferson Mill, of the Baptist faith, and was preceded in death by brothers, Tommy Standridge, Paul Standridge, Billy Standridge and Ruel Lee Standridge.
Survivors include his wife, Flossie Starnes Standridge of the residence; son and daughter-in-law, Richard Jr. & Julie Standridge, Athens; daughters and sons-in-law, Becky Sue & Robert Gasaway Hanley, Commerce, Margie & Mitchell Adams, Commerce, Tammy & Jason Gordon, Maysville; brother, Bobby Standridge, Jefferson; sisters, Ann Chitwood and Mary Daniel, both of Commerce; 9 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held 2 pm Sunday, May 5, 2019 at Grey Hill Cemetery with the Rev. Don Blalock officiating. The family will receive friends 11 am until time of the service Sunday at the funeral home.
