James Luther Ayers

Mr. James Luther Ayers 75 of Homer passed away Saturday Feb. 6, 2021. He was the son of the late William Hermon and Lois Turpin Ayers.  Mr. Ayers retired from the Georgia Department of Transportation.  Mr. Ayers was a veteran of the United States Army.

Survivors include his wife Linda Ann Blalock Ayers of the home, a daughter Connie (Lec) Overacker of Baldwin, Ga. 5 Brothers, Marvin Ayers , Lamar Ayers both of Homer, Harold Ayers of Ila, Ralph Ayers of Carnesville and David Ayers of Commerce.  3 Sisters also survive Lucy Shore of Commerce, Betty Grizzle of Commerce and Evelyn Blalock of Dainelsville .  Granchildren Zackery, Harley, Cassidy and Bailey Overacker. In addition to his parents Mr. Ayers was preceded in death by 2 brothers Leroy Ayers and Larry Ayers.

Graveside Services will be Tuesday at 11 AM from the Webb;s Creek Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Darwin Cash officiating.

The family will receive friends in the funeral home Monday evening from 5 to 7 PM.
