Ivie Funeral Home, Commerce, announces services for Inez Barnett, age 100 of Commerce, who was born on August 6, 1913 in Jackson County, GA. Mrs. Barnett, who passed away on Tuesday, August 5, 2014 at her residence would have been 101 today (Wednesday). She was the last surviving child of eight children of the late Charlie and Minnie Nicholson Doss. Along with her parents and siblings, she was preceded in death by her husband James A. Barnett and Judy Ann Wood. Survivors include her daughters, Carolyn Perry of Commerce, Linda Jarrett of Watkinsville and Janice Gause of Charleston, SC; 8 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren.
Funeral services are scheduled for Friday at 2 PM from the chapel of Ivie Funeral Home with Rev. David Sharpton officiating. Interment will follow in the Sunrise Cemetery in Maysville. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday evening from 6-8 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the American Heart Association; POB 840692; Dallas, TX 75284-0692 in Mrs. Inez Barnett's name.
