Eva Selma (Sears) Peek

Eva Selma Peek, age 70 of Commerce, GA passed away on Sunday, April 10, 2022 at Piedmont in Athens, GA.

Born on October 13, 1951 in McCormick, SC, Mrs. Peek was the daughter of the late Dwayne and Mattie Wideman Sears. She was the widow of Jerry Peek, and was preceded in death by a brother, Jerry Sears; sisters, Tammie Pinnell and Kathy Sears.

Eva loved sitting on her back porch and watching nature while reading a good book. Her favorite thing was going on mini trips with her sisters where we would hit all the thrift shops and flea markets we could find. She was “The Rock” of her family and a mother to anyone who needed her.

Survivor include sons, Eric Peek, David Peek, Michael Peek (Karen), Scott Peek (Jane), Chris Peek (Sherri); twelve grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; sisters, Carolyn Latham (Ronnie), Abbeville, SC, Tina Sears, Danielsville, GA; sister-in-law, Karen Sears, Carnesville, GA; brothers, Larry Sears, Chattanooga, TN, Phillip Sears, Commerce, GA; ten nieces and nephews; and twenty-one great nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held 6 pm Wednesday, April 13, 2022 at Ivie Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Benson Jennings officiating. The family will receive friends 5 pm until the service hour Wednesday at the funeral home.

The family will be gathering at 132 Ingram Hancock Rd., Commerce, GA.
