Betty Jean (Hardy) Turner

Betty Jean Hardy Turner, age 82 of Athens, GA passed away on Thursday, October 7, 2021.

She was born on Oct. 12, 1938 in Jackson County, GA, she was the daughter of the late Ralph Frank and willie Mae Evans Hardy. She was preceded in death by a sons, Billy Mealor and Kenneth Mealor; brothers, RT Hardy and Billy Frank Hardy.

Survivors include her husband, William Turner of the home; a son, Steve (Kathy) Mealor, Maysville; and a sister, Mary Drake, Ila; brother, Aaron Hardy, Dawsonville; 5 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.

Funeral services will be held 11 am Monday, Oct. 11, 2021 at Ivie Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Chad Rising officiating. Burial will follow in Jackson Memorial Park. The family will receive friends 10 am Monday until the funeral hour at the funeral home.
