Waymon Parson, a dedicated wielder and cherished husband, father, brother, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully on May 21, 2026, in Gainesville, Georgia. Born on July 7, 1951, in Maysville, Georgia, Waymon’s journey through life was marked by unwavering commitment to his craft and a profound devotion to his family.

Waymon’s career as a wielder was distinguished by skill, dedication, and an enduring passion that earned him the respect of his peers and community. His professional life was a testament to his work ethic and his ability to face challenges with resilience and strength.

Born to the late Bynum and Ora Dean Emmett Parson, Waymon was deeply rooted in family values and tradition. He was preceded in death by his beloved sister, Kathleen Brock, and brothers, Otis, Sam, Charles, Dairl, Herman, Roy, and Howard Parson, each of whom cherishes the memories they share. These losses were profoundly felt, yet Waymon remained a pillar of strength for those around him.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Patricia Ann Nix Parson, who stood by him through every chapter of his life. Their union was a source of joy and steadfast support. Together, they raised a loving family that continues to honor Waymon’s legacy.

Waymon is also survived by his children: son James Bougher, and daughters Deana Hart and Tammie Coleman. His role as a father was characterized by guidance, love, and unwavering support. Waymon’s influence extended beyond his children to a wide network of family, including his brother, Steve Parson. Otis, Sam, Charles, Dairl, Herman, Roy, and Howard Parson, each of whom cherishes the memories they share.

The mark Waymon left on the world is further embodied by his eight grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren, who bring light and continuity to his family’s story. His legacy of dedication, strength, and love will continue to inspire them in the years to come.

Waymon Parson’s life was a testament to the virtues of faithfulness, resilience, and family. His memory will forever be a guiding light to those who knew and loved him, serving as a reminder of a life well-lived and a heart profoundly committed to the people he held dear. He will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all whose lives he touched.

Funeral services will be held 2 PM Wednesday, May  27, 2026 at Ivie Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Grove Level Cemetery. The family will receive friends 12 pm until the funeral hour Wednesday at the funeral home.
