Waymon Howell

Waymon Howell, of Commerce, Georgia, passed away on August 24, 2026, in Commerce. He was born on April 5, 1957, in Commerce, and remained closely connected to the community that was his lifelong home.

Waymon worked as a self-employed construction worker. Through his work, he devoted himself to a trade that called for strength, skill, and steady effort, and he spent his years building with his hands and serving others through that labor.

He is preceded in death by his father, Edward Howell, and his mother, Lillie Mae Loggins Howell; along with brothers, Bobby Howell, Dillard Howell, Donald Howell; and sisters, Betty Floyd, Doris Linkous, and Judy Nation. 

He is survived by his brothers, Freddie Howell, Eddie Howell, Buford Howell; and by his sisters, Geneva Floyd, Barbara Coker, Jenette Roberts; and several nieces and nephews.

Waymon will be remembered by those who knew and loved him, and his memory will remain a lasting part of the lives of his family and all who shared in his journey.

Visitation will be 6-8 PM Friday, Aug. 28, 2026 at Ivie Funeral Home.
