Waymon Larry Bishop

Waymon Larry Bishop, a cherished figure in the lives of many, passed away on June 3, 2025, at the age of 78. Born on November 4, 1946, in Buford, Georgia, Waymon was a dedicated self-employed painter whose craftsmanship and attention to detail were well-known in his community.

Waymon's life was filled with love and devotion to his family. He is survived by his significant other, Mary Kathleen Clark, who was a constant source of support and companionship. Waymon was a loving father to his son, Donnie James Mitchell, and he took great pride in being surrounded by his large family, which includes several brothers, several sisters, 16 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, and 15 great-great-grandchildren. In addition to his immediate family, he also leaves behind a number of nieces and nephews who will carry forth his memory.

He was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Horace and Mary Alice Holloway Bishop, whose warmth and nurturing spirit influenced Waymon throughout his life.

Friends and family are invited to pay their respects at Ivie Funeral Home in Commerce, Georgia. A visitation will take place on June 6, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM, followed by a memorial service starting at 2:00 PM. The services will be held at the same location, located at 1053 S. Elm Street, Commerce, GA 30529.
