Vanessa Jan Crane

Vanessa Jan Crane, of Cleveland, Georgia, passed away on September 7, 2026, in Gainesville, GA,  at the age of 70. She was born on December 6, 1955, in Commerce, Georgia.

Jan will be remembered for her faithful presence in the lives of those who loved her and for the steady way she carried herself through the years. She retired as a Program Assistant with the Georgia Department of Juvenile Justice, a role that reflected a life of commitment and service. She was also a member of Maysville Baptist Church, where her faith was part of the foundation of her life.

She was preceded in death by her husband, George "Ellis" Crane, with whom she shared 35 years of marriage, and by her parents, Hoyt Cooper and Elizabeth Cooper.

Jan leaves behind a loving family who will continue to cherish her memory. She is survived by her daughters, Heather (Tony) Royston and Hannah (Andy) Correll; her brother, Rickey Cooper; her grandchildren, Chasity (Darian) Gilliam, Levi (Alyssa) Royston, Addey Ayers, Carson Ayers, Hayden Ayers, Bryce (Kinley) Correll, Owen Correll, and Anniston Davis; and her great-grandchild, Graclyn Gilliam. Their lives stand as a lasting part of her legacy, and her love for her family will remain close to them in the days and years ahead.

Family and friends are invited to gather for visitation on Thursday, September 10, 2026, from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Ivie Funeral Home, 1053 S. Elm Street, Commerce, Georgia 30529. A funeral service will be held on Friday, September 11, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Maysville Baptist Church, 8875 Highway 82 Spur, Maysville, Georgia 30558, with Rev. Shane Roberson officiating. Interment will follow at Jackson Memorial Gardens.

Jan Crane will be remembered with love, gratitude, and deep affection by all who knew her.
