Thomas Hudson Leonard, a beloved member of the community and a dedicated family man, passed away peacefully on December 24, 2025, at the age of 90. Born on February 2, 1935, in Cornelia, Georgia, Thomas lived a life filled with purpose and service.
A proud retiree, Thomas spent many years serving as a Corrections Officer and as a Postal Worker, roles that exemplified his commitment to duty and public service. His steadfast work ethic and unwavering dedication left a lasting impact on those around him.
In addition to his professional accomplishments, Thomas was a devoted member of the Carnesville Church of God, where he found joy and fellowship within his faith community. His spirituality was an integral part of his life, guiding him through the challenges and triumphs he faced.
Thomas is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 70 years, Patricia Ann Leonard, whose memory he cherished deeply; his father, Theodore Leonard; his mother, Vera McCrakin Leonard; his grandson, Christian Leonard; and several siblings. Their legacy will continue to live on in the hearts of his family.
He is survived by his son, Wayne (Sonseirae) Thomas; daughters, Kathy (Wayne) Lusk and Sandra (Tim) Wilson; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Each member of his family brought him immense pride and joy, and he took great delight in watching them thrive.
The memory of Thomas Hudson Leonard will be forever cherished by all who knew and loved him. His contributions to his family and community will not be forgotten, ensuring that his spirit lives on in the stories and lives of those he touched.
