Thomas is survived by his loving spouse, Gayla Irwin Davenport of 30 years, who stood by his side through the many seasons of life. He was a proud father to his sons, Thomas (Samantha) Davenport, Brandon Davenport, and Jason Hawkins, as well as his daughter, Jessica Hawkins. He is also survived by his brothers, James Davenport, Sr. and Robert Davenport, who will remember him fondly along with 6 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Thomas was preceded in death by his parents, James and Rachel Nunley Davenport, as well as his brother, Charles Davenport, and sister, Diane Shreves. Their memories live on in the stories connected to Thomas’s life, weaving a rich tapestry of family history and love.
The visitation for Thomas will be held on February 7, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Ivie Funeral Home located at 1053 S. Elm Street, Commerce, Georgia. This will be followed by a funeral service at the same location, commencing at 12:00 PM. Friends, family, and all who were touched by Thomas’s life are invited to celebrate his memory during this time of remembrance.
