Sidney West Harrison, a devoted family man, retired electrician, and Navy veteran, passed away on June 8, 2026, in Danielsville, Georgia. Born on November 22, 1957, in Falls Church, Virginia, Sidney lived a life marked by dedication, skill, and unwavering commitment to those he loved.
Sidney’s career as an electrician was distinguished by his many years of service with the University of Georgia. His expertise and diligent work not only contributed to the university’s infrastructure but also reflected his deeply rooted work ethic and reliability. Before embarking on his professional journey, Sidney honorably served in the Navy, a testament to his patriotism and sense of duty.
He is survived by his cherished daughters, Heather (Pedro) Cayuela and Christa (Quentin) Carnley, who stand as a testament to his enduring love and guidance. Sidney’s brothers, Robert "Bob" Harrison and John Harrison, remain by the family’s side, sharing in the loss of a beloved brother. His legacy further lives on through his six grandchildren and several nieces and nephews, all of whom were touched by his kindness and presence.
Sidney was preceded in death by his father, Robert Peyton Harrison, and his mother, Myra Sue Cain Tingdale, whose memory he honored throughout his life. His passing marks the end of a beautiful chapter for a man who gave so much to his family, friends, and country.
