SHIRLEY WILLIAMS MONTGOMERY

Mrs. Shirley Williams Montgomery passed away peacefully on January 27, 2023. She was the daughter of the late Henry Williams and Mary Lou (Roberts) Williams. She was proceeded in death by her husband Clyde Eugene Montgomery and a sister; Sarah Crowder.

She is survived by her five children and extended family; Wayne Montgomery, Teresa Montgomery Newton, Jeannie Montgomery Smith, Mark Montgomery and Connie Montgomery Bowman. She had eleven grandchildren, twenty-two great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

She is loved by so many more who affectionately called her Memaw. Along with her late husband Eugene (Gene) Montgomery they built a life of love and success and through their love of God and doing right by people, made lifelong friends out of everyone they met. Shirley truly believed and proved that love given was returned tenfold.

She is loved and will be missed by so many. Viewing will be at Ivie Funeral Home in Commerce, Georgia on Sunday January 29 and Monday January 30, 2023 from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM.

Service will be at Riverside Baptist Church, Hwy 82 Maysville, Georgia on Tuesday January 31, 2023 at 2:00 PM. Mrs. Montgomery will lie in state from 1:00 – 2:00 PM

As per Mrs. Montgomery's request in lieu of flowers please make donations to Children's Hospital in Atlanta or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis, Tn
