Sandra Ayers

Sandra Ayers, age 76 of Commerce, GA passed away Wednesday, Oct. 14, 2020.

Born on Oct. 31, 1943 in Nicholson, GA, Ms. Ayers was the daughter of the late Robert E. Lee and Girtha Bernida Sorrows Hembree. She was a LPN with BJC and Northeast GA D.S. in Winder, a member of New Hope Baptist Church, Nicholson, GA, and was preceded in death by an infant sons, Jerry Wayne Ayers and Gerald Lamar Ayers, daughter, Girtha Lynn Knight, brothers, Bobby Hembree, Homer Hembree, sister Shirley Minish.

Survivors include her husband, Bobby Ayers of the home; sons, Larry Ayers; daughter, Kimberly Kamp; brothers, Roger Hembree, Kenneth Hembree, Chris Hembree; sisters, Louise Woods, Joyce Shelnut, and Tricia Adams, step sisters, Lorie Hembree Edwards and Rhonda Howington, and half brother, James Hembree. She also survived by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends 6-8 PM Friday, Nov. 13, 2020 at Ivie Funeral Home.

In Lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project.

Funeral services will be scheduled at a later date.
