Samuel "Bo" Ray Simmons passed away on January 16, 2026, at the age of 64. Born on June 9, 1961, in Commerce, GA, he dedicated most of his life to his work as a self-employed construction worker, where he built not just structures, but lasting relationships with those knew him.
Bo's life was deeply interwoven with his family's lineage, cherished memories, and the bonds he cultivated over the years. He is survived by his beloved sons, Roger Douglas Patrick and Phillip Heflan, along with his daughters, Chrystal Simmons, Stacy Patrick, Christina Marlow, and Nancy Heflan. His legacy continues through his family and the love they shared, testimony to the man he was. Also mourning his passing are his siblings: brother Jimmy Simmons, and sisters Julie Echols, Carol Parr, Shirley Samples, Rita Seabolt, and Angela Elrod.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Travis and Margie Smith Simmons, and his sister, Belinda Simmons. Additionally, he was reunited in spirit with his brothers Thomas Simmons, David Simmons, and Junior Simmons, each of whom played a significant role in his life.
The community is invited to join in honoring Bo's memory with a visitation on January 21, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, followed by a memorial service at 12:00 PM. Both events will be held at Ivie Funeral Home, located at 1053 S. Elm Street in Commerce, GA.
As family and friends gather to celebrate his life and the love he shared, they will remember Bo not only for the hard work he upheld in his career but for his generous spirit and unwavering devotion to his family.
