Robert Lem Ward

Robert Lem Ward, of Commerce, Georgia, passed away on August 25, 2026, in Commerce. He was born on February 28, 1956, in Royston, Georgia.

Mr. Ward was a retired Assembly Technician from Roper. His years of work reflected a steady and dedicated life, and he will be remembered with love by those who knew him.

He is survived by his son, Nathan (Hailey) Ward, and his daughter, Megan (Kevin)  Powell. He also leaves behind four cherished grandchildren, Nolan Powell, Lillian Powell, Silas Ward, and Elijah Ward, who were an important part of his family and legacy. Robert is also survived by his brother, Tommy Ward, and by his sisters, Mary Ann (Bobby) McDonald, Glenda (Bennie) Sauls, Janet Wood, and Judy (Steve) Murray. He will be deeply missed by his family and by all who shared in his life.

He was preceded in death by his father, Thomas Watson Ward; his mother, Mary Sue Pilgrim Ward; his brother-in-law, Danny Wood; and his sister-in-law, Bonnie Ward.

Family and friends are invited to gather for visitation on Saturday, August 29, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Ivie Funeral Home, 1053 S. Elm Street, Commerce, Georgia 30529. A funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. at Ivie Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Banks County Memorial Gardens.

Robert Lem Ward will be remembered with affection and respect, and his memory will remain in the hearts of those who loved him.
