Peggy Lou (Motes) Boggus

Peggy Lou Boggus, age 77 of Commerce, GA passed away on Sunday, Feb. 13, 2022.

Born on May 1, 1944 in Athens, GA, Mrs. Boggus was the daughter of the late Jessie Willie Motes and Viola Brooks Boggus. She was a homemaker, was of the Baptist faith, and was preceded in death by a son, Dwight Boggus, brothers, Jerry Motes, Jesse Motes, Robert Davis; sisters Katherine Smith and Dorthy Sorell.

Survivors include son, Robert (Terri) Hill, Richard (Melinda) Hill, Timothy (Julie) Williams, Michael (Maggie) Boggus, David Cain; step-daughter, Martha Metcalf;  sister, Cornelia Ann Bridges; special brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Kenneth and Mae Boggus; 21 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; and a great number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held 2 pm Thursday, Feb. 17, 2022 at Ivie Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Grey Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends 6-8 pm Tuesday and Wednesday evenings at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Grey Hill Cemetery.
