Otis Boswell, a beloved member of the Maysville community, passed away peacefully on April 29, 2025, at the age of 81 in Maysville, Georgia. Born on March 15, 1944, in Commerce, Georgia, Otis lived a life grounded in his values and enriched by his faith as a devoted member of Unity Christian Church.
Otis dedicated many years to his career at Golden Poultry, where he served with pride as a shop manager until his retirement. His work ethic and commitment left a lasting impression on his colleagues and the community he served.
He is survived by his daughter, Cindy Allen (Petie); sister, Joyce Wilson; granddaughter, Jennifer Hill; and great-grandson, Korben Giles. Their lives were made brighter with his presence, as he embraced family with open arms, imparting love and wisdom across generations.
Otis was preceded in death by his loving wife, Linda Boswell, along with his parents, Perino and Ola Mae Carroll Boswell. He also mourned the loss of his siblings, including sister, Martha Lewis, and brothers John, Herman, Glenn, and Norman Boswell. Each of these relationships shaped who he was and will be remembered fondly.
Visitation for Otis will be held on May 2, 2025, from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM at Ivie Funeral Home, located at 1053 S. Elm Street, Commerce, GA. Following the visitation, a funeral service will take place at the same location, starting at 11:00 AM in the chapel. Burial will follow in Sunrise Cemetery, Maysville, GA.
Otis Boswell’s life was a testament to the values of family, work, and faith. He will be cherished in the hearts of those who knew him, and his legacy will live on through the family he loved so dearly.
