Mary is remembered fondly by her surviving family, including her son Billy (Brenda) Whitfield, who cherished her guidance and wisdom throughout his life. She leaves behind a remarkable legacy through her grandchildren, Mark Whitfield, Amy Whitfield, and her great-grandchildren, Austin Whitfield, Caelan Whitfield, Grayson Whitfield, and Sarah Riggers. Additionally, Mary is survived by several nieces and nephews, all of whom carry the warmth and love she imparted.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, HJ Whitfield, who played a significant role in her life, and her second husband, Lloyd Echols, whose companionship brought her happiness. Mary cherished her siblings, and her brothers George and Tom Savage who have also passed, leaving a space in her heart that will remain unfilled. In her role as a great-grandmother, she held a special bond with her great-granddaughter Patience Whitfield, whose loss is felt deeply.
