Marian Adamson Jordan

Marian Adamson Jordan born in Banks County May 26, 1929 went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, Nov. 20, 2024. She was the daughter of the late Carl C. Adamson and Edna Clark Adamson.

 

Marian, in addition to being a mother, wife, homemaker and best cook around, worked for 25 years for the US Department of Agriculture ASCS where she made friends with and assisted many Banks and Hall County farmers. After retirement, Marian began assisting the Banks County Registrar’s Office.

 

Marian was a member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church and was a Sunday School teacher in her younger years.

 

In addition to her parents, Marian was preceded in death by her husband, Weldon C. Jordan; son, William Swayne Jordan; brothers, Wilton Adamson of Bryan, Ohio and Horace Adamson of Hendersonville, NC.

 

Marian is survived by her son, Randall C. (Penny) Jordan of Flowery Branch, Vickie Jordan (Jimmy) Cochran of Commerce; sister, Doris Winona Chambers, Melbourne, FL. Grandchildren, John A. (Irina)Cochran, W. (Eric) Jordan (Claudia), Gregory R. (Cayta) Jordan, Kevin R. (Dana) Cochran, Christy Jordan (Jeremy) Holt, Karla Jordan (Justin) Lee; great-grandchildren, Addison Cochran, Preston Cochran, Peyton Cochran, Lane Cochran, Tony White, Cody White, Dakota White, Lilia Holt, Ehtan Holt, Evan Lee, and Grayson Lee; great-great granddaughter, Saylor Cochran; and a number of loving nieces and nephews of whom she was very proud.

 

Her life was like a beacon for her loved ones, teaching them by example, offering love, acceptance, encouragement, shelter, and safety. If you were hers, you were blessed.

 

Funeral services will be held 3 pm Sunday, November 24, 2024 at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church with Rev. Phil Parks and Rev. John Wayne Abernathy officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday 11:30 am until 2:30 pm at the funeral home.

 

Arrangements are in the care of Ivie Funeral Home, Commerce, GA.
