Lynda Belle Taylor, born on March 7, 1931, in Athens, Georgia, passed away peacefully on July 24, 2025, in Commerce, Georgia. She lived a life full of purpose and dedication, leaving behind a legacy woven through family, faith, and a loving spirit.
As a devoted homemaker, Lynda dedicated her life to nurturing her family and creating a welcoming environment that reflected her strong Christian faith. She was an inspiration to all who knew her, and she fervently wished for others to experience the hope and love offered through Jesus Christ.
Lynda is survived by her beloved son, Marvin Taylor; her daughters, Jean (William) Knapp and Gail (John) McAbee; and her cherished grandchildren, Brianna Taylor, Emily Taylor, John McAbee Jr., Michael Moody, and Matthew McAbee. These family members carry forward her caring spirit and the values she instilled in them.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Taylor; her father, William Shields; her mother, Mary Shields; and her son, Walter (Debbie) Taylor. Each of these individuals held a special place in her heart, and their memory remains a source of comfort to those she leaves behind.
The visitation for Lynda will take place on July 27, 2025, from 4 PM to 7 PM at Ivie Funeral Home located at 1053 S. Elm Street, Commerce, GA. A funeral service will follow on July 28, 2025, at 1:30 PM, also at Ivie Funeral Home. Lynda will be laid to rest at Jackson Memorial Gardens, Commerce Georgia.
