With our hearts in pieces, we share the passing of Ottis Lloyd Booth, age 58, of Athens, Georgia, who left us suddenly on November 17, 2025. Born on September 15, 1967, Ottis was the son of Patricia Ann Free Booth and Lloyd Luner Booth, and from the very beginning, he carried the unmistakable Booth spirit — strong, stubborn, and full of heart.
Ottis lived his entire life as a third-generation logger, a path carved by the family before him and one he took on with pride. The woods were his second home, the place where he learned to work hard, stand tall, and keep pushing through — all those stubborn Booth ways that made him who he was. That stubborn streak ran deep, but it came from a place of strength, loyalty, and love.
But the greatest part of his life was his family. Ottis loved his kids and grandkids with everything he had. They were his purpose, his pride, and heart. He lived for their smiles, their visits, and the moments he had a new pocket knife to give them. His love wasn’t loud — it was lived. And everyone who belonged to him felt it.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Patricia Ann Free Booth; his sister, Regina Ann Stuchell; his brothers, Jimmy Wayne Booth Sr. and Terry Ray Booth; and his niece, Stephanie Ann Stuchell. We take comfort knowing he is wrapped in their arms now.
Ottis is survived by his father, Lloyd Luner Booth; his three children, Preston Lloyd Booth, Taylor Leeann Booth, and Jayson Zachary Dean Booth; and his four grandchildren, Mason Lloyd Booth, Gavin Landen Waite, Dalton Keith Booth, and Railynn Mason Cook, each one carrying a piece of his heart. He also leaves behind his fiancée Flossie Mae Brock, his partner in life and the one who stood by his side through everything.
Losing him has left a hole we can never fill. His memories, his stubborn Booth ways, his laugh, and his love will stay with us forever.
A viewing will be held at Ivie Funeral Home (date and time to be announced), with cremation to follow.
Our family is deeply grateful for every prayer, message, and donation.
In Lieu of Flowers, the family requests that donations be made to assist with funeral expenses.
