Larry Cox, a dedicated truck driver with Triple H Transport, passed away peacefully on July 15, 2025, in Athens, GA. He was born on March 24, 1946, in Crawford, GA, to Robert and Josie Mae Robinson Cox, who have since preceded him in death.
Larry will be lovingly remembered by his spouse, Cindy Walbert Cox, and a multitude of family members who cherished him deeply. He is survived by his sons, Neal (Tammy) Cox, Greg (Donna) Cox, Scott (Christy) Cox, and David Cox, as well as his daughter, Kimberly (Antwan) Reid. In addition, he leaves behind his step-daughters, Heather Tucker, Sheila Mercer, Debra Bennett, Billie Jo Parsons, Angela Benosky, along with his step-son, Daniel Mercer. His legacy continues through his two beloved sisters, Shirley Moon and Lois Bales; brothers, David (Lynn) Cox, Bennie (Ann) Cox, and through the laughter and love of his 24 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
A visitation will be held in honor of Larry on July 16, 2025, from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Ivie Funeral Home, located at 1053 S. Elm Street, Commerce, GA 30529. Following the visitation, a funeral service will take place on July 17, 2025, beginning at 2:00 PM, also at Ivie Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Bible Baptist Church Cemetery, Colbert, GA.
Throughout his life, Larry exemplified dedication and hard work. He was known for his generous spirit and an infectious smile that touched those around him. His memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who loved and admired him, as they gather to celebrate his remarkable life and the lasting impact he made on their lives.
