Kenneth Randall Grindle passed away peacefully on July 21, 2026, in Gainesville, Georgia, at the age of 85. Born on February 24, 1941, in Jackson County, Georgia, Kenneth’s long and meaningful life was marked by devotion to family, faith, and dedication to his craft.
Kenneth was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend. Kenneth’s legacy continues through his children: his son, Randy Grindle and his wife Sonya; his daughters, Tammy Ledford and her husband Mike, and Penny Latty and her husband Mike. The bonds of family were central to Kenneth’s life, and his love extended warmly to his grandchildren: Tabitha Kitchens, Tyler Ledford and his wife Holly, Trent Latty, and his wife, Melissa, Lacey Allen, and Rob Allen. He took great pride in the next generation as well, delighting in his great-grandchildren: Emory Kitchens, Mason Kitchens, Mechyna Ledford, Sierrah Mixon, Alissa Latty, Ava Latty, Charleigh Allen, Cooper Allen, Addison Bailey, and Hunter Latty.
Kenneth was also a treasured sibling to his brother Roger Grindle and his sister Peggy Sullens, who continue to cherish his memory.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John Wesley Grindle and Mary Norris Grindle; his wife, Patricia Ann Hicks Grindle; his brother, Roy Grindle; and his sisters, Mae Jackson, Geneva Howard, Dorothy Nalley, Betty Grindle, and Shirley Nalley. Kenneth held close the memories of those family members who went before him and honored their influence throughout his life.
A dedicated and skilled tradesman, Kenneth worked as a welder at Cotrell. His work ethic, integrity, and commitment to excellence left a lasting impression on colleagues and friends alike.
Kenneth was a devoted member of Faith Tabernacle, where his faith and sense of community offered strength and guidance. He attended services faithfully and fostered meaningful relationships within his church.
Kenneth’s life will be honored during a visitation at Ivie Funeral Home, 1053 S. Elm Street, Commerce, GA 30529, on July 24, 2026, from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM. The funeral service will be held in the Chapel of Ivie Funeral Home on July 25, 2026, beginning at 12:00 PM. Rev. Luis Gaddis, Rev. James Kanaday, and Rev. Sarah Pearson will officiate as those who knew Kenneth come together to pay their respects and celebrate his life.
Following the funeral, interment will take place at Diamond Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.
Kenneth Randall Grindle’s life was defined by kindness, steadfastness, and generosity. His unwavering devotion to his loved ones and deep faith leave a lasting legacy. He will be dearly missed by all those who had the privilege to know him.
