Joyce Ann Cregar, born on March 16, 1938, in Ortonville, Michigan, passed away on July 29, 2026, in Braselton, Georgia. Her life was one marked by deep dedication to her family, her faith, and her community.
Joyce was the loving daughter of James and Virginia Slieff, who preceded her in death. She is also reunited with her siblings Alice Hall, Andy Slieff, and Janice Jones, and her beloved grandchild, Joseph Cregar Jr.
Surviving Joyce are her two devoted sons, Joseph (Patti) Cregar and George Cregar, who carry on her legacy of warmth and kindness. She is remembered fondly by her brothers, Beldon Slieff, James Slieff, and her sisters, Mary Setlack, Doris Sarles, Lillian Slieff, Debbie Slieff, and Kathy Hall. Her family was her greatest pride, and she cherished each moment spent with them.
As a homemaker, Joyce created a nurturing and welcoming environment where love was always abundant. Her talents and gentleness touched the lives of many, especially her grandchildren: Shawn (Doug) Cregar, Jamie Cregar, Colby Cregar, Mathew (Kim) Cregar, and Terri (Brian) Boxler. They, along with her great-grandchildren Aurora, Ruby, Erin, and Ava, were blessed with her wisdom and affection.
Faith guided Joyce throughout her life. She was a dedicated member of Nails Creek Baptist Church and was formerly an active member of Big Lake Baptist Church in Big Lake, Alaska. Her love for her church communities reflected her generous spirit and steadfast devotion.
Joyce’s memory will be honored and celebrated. Visitation will be held on August 1, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Ivie Funeral Home, 1053 S. Elm Street, Commerce, Georgia. A funeral service will follow at 4:00 p.m. at the same location.
A secondary visitation will be held at Mumford-Hudson Funeral Home in Otisville, Michigan.
Her family, friends, and all whose lives she touched will remember her unwavering love, kindness, and fortitude. The legacy of Joyce Ann Cregar endures in the hearts of those who knew her well and whose lives are richer because of her.
