Janice Maxine Rawnsley

March 20, 1959 — August 16, 2025

Maysville, GA

Janice Maxine Rawnsley, a beacon of kindness and generosity, passed away on August 16, 2025, at her residence, enveloped by the warmth of cherished memories she created throughout her life. Born on March 20, 1959, in Gainesville, GA, Janice carved out a legacy of love and compassion, serving as a caregiver to many elderly people over the years. Her unwavering dedication to those in need illuminated their lives, as she approached each day with a tender heart and a spirit of service.

Janice's nurturing nature extended beyond her caregiving profession. She had a profound love for her pets, especially her dear chihuahuas, who brought boundless joy to her days. Alongside her passion for the delicate beauty of flowers, Janice found solace and happiness in the world around her, creating a vibrant tapestry of love, color, and life wherever she went.

Ever devoted to her family, Janice leaves behind her beloved husband, Glenn Rawnsley, with whom she shared 29 beautiful years of marriage. She proudly nurtured her children: daughter April Sims-Gosnell and her sons John Savage, Thomas Savage, and Daniel Johnson. Her loving spirit will continue to thrive in the hearts of her eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, who carry forward the legacy of her warmth, care, and unwavering love.

Janice is survived by her brothers Richard O'Kelly, Roger O'Kelly, David Savage, WT Savage, and Gary Savage, and her sister Barbra O'Kelly, all of whom will miss her deeply. She is preceded in death by her parents Felchie and Suzie Savage Roach, along with her brothers Wayne O'Kelly and Frank Savage, and sisters Betty Jean O'Kelly and Brenda O'Kelly, who now warmly welcome her into eternity.

A memorial service honoring Janice's life will be held on August 17, 2025, at Ivie Funeral Home in Commerce, GA, with visitation starting at 2:00 PM followed by the service at 4:00 PM. Pastor Chad Rising will officiate the ceremony, guiding us as we gather to celebrate a life worthy of remembrance, filled with love and acts of kindness that touched so many lives.

In our sorrow, we reflect on Janice’s gentle spirit and the indelible mark she left on the hearts of everyone who knew her. As we bid farewell, we carry forward the lessons she taught us – to be kind, to care for one another, and to appreciate the beauty in every moment. Her memory will forever bloom like the flowers she adored, reminding us to cherish the love that unites us.
