James Edward Turpin, age 67 of Maysville, GA passed away Friday, June 21, 2019.
Born on Nov. 21, 1951 in Commerce, GA, he was the son of Zelma Carroll Turpin and the late James Ralph Turpin. He was a master carpenter with Charles Slay Construction and was a member of Diamond Hill Baptist Church.
Survivors in addition to his mother include a son and daughter-in-law, Rusty "Mark" & Jamie Turpin, Gillsville; brother, John and Teresa Turpin, Maysville; sisters, Margie and Chuck Boyd and Janis and Nathan Sims, both of Gillsville; 3 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 2 pm Tuesday, June 25, 2019 at Diamond Hill Baptist Church with the Rev. Michael Parker and Rev. Randolph Beaty officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm Monday at the funeral home.
