James Marvin Murphy

James Marvin Murphy, born on July 19, 1955, in Columbus, Georgia, was a cherished member of his community and a dedicated individual whose presence will be dearly missed following his passing on August 13, 2025, in Athens, Georgia. An esteemed professional, James's career spanned many impactful years at Travel Centers of America, where he cultivated lasting relationships characterized by his kindness and dedication to serving others.

James was preceded in death by his parents, James Marvin and Joanne Harris Murphy, who profoundly shaped the person he became through their love and guidance.

Visitation for James Marvin Murphy will take place on September 3, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Ivie Funeral Home, located at 1053 S. Elm Street in Commerce, Georgia. Following this time of remembrance, a funeral service will commence, allowing family and friends to celebrate James's life at 11:00 AM in the same location. Burial will follow in Grey Hill Cemetery.
