Hugh Keith Massey

Hugh Keith Massey, a talented woodworker and painter, departed this life on November 22, 2025, in Danielsville, Georgia, at the age of 70. He was born on January 24, 1955, in Winder, Georgia, to Ralph and Doris Massey, who predeceased him.

Hugh was a devoted member of the Baptist faith and embraced community values through his involvement with the Woodmen of the World. His craftsmanship and artistic expression through woodworking and painting were not just his profession; they were reflections of his passion and his love for creating beauty in everyday life.

He is survived by Kevin Hugh Massey, his beloved son; Kenneth Massey, his brother; and Karen Massey Crew, his sister. Hugh cherished his role as a grandfather to Tiffany Hamilton, Ricky Hamilton, and Stormy Massey Scarborough. He also found immense joy in being a great-grandfather to Aniyah Hamilton, Serenity Hamilton, and Braxton Platia. His family brought him a deep sense of pride and fulfillment that will always be remembered.

Hugh's family will gather to honor his life with visitation on November 28, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at 2:00 PM at Ivie Funeral Home, located at 1053 S. Elm Street, Commerce, Georgia. Cremation will follow the funeral service.

His warm spirit, creativity, and loving nature will forever be cherished in the hearts of those who knew him. Hugh leaves behind a legacy enriched by his woodworking and artistry that touched many lives, instilling in his family the values of hard work, dedication, and a love for both artistry and community.
