Ivie Funeral Home announces services for Helen Thojpson, 86, of Burlington, NC who died on Monday at the Alamance Regional Medical Center in Burlington. Born in Sumter, SC, she was the daughter of the late Frank Cross and the late Lizzie Mae Bradwell Cross Forester and was the widow of John J. Thompson. Survivors include 3 daughters, Martha Peterson of Monticello, GA, Sue Thompson of Hoschton, GA and Nita Mock of Burlington, NC.; 1 son, John Thompson, III of Homer, GA; 7 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday at 2 PM from the Homer United Methodist Church. Interment will follow at Banks County Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends at the church beginning at 1 PM on Thursday.
