Ivie Funeral Home announces the death of Gerald Douglas Homan, 68, of Commerce who passed away on Thursday at the St. Mary's Hospice House in Bogart. Born in Birmingham, AL, he was the son of the late Vernie and Ruby Melvin Homan and was married to Rebecca Sewell Homan of the residence. Survivors, along with his wife, include sons, Bryan Homan of Monroe, Daniel Homan of Camus, Washington, Gerad Homan of Commerce, and a granddaughter, Brinna Homan. The family will receive friends, in memory of Mr. Homan, at the Apple Valley Baptist Church on August 27th from 4-6 PM.
