Garnett Ward

Garnett Ward, born on September 14, 1933, in the embrace of a loving family, passed away peacefully on October 22, 2025, in Athens, Georgia. He lived a life filled with dedication and service, commendably contributing to both his community and his family.

A retired self-employed construction worker, Garnett distinguished himself in his trade, known for his strong work ethic and commitment to quality. His meticulous craftsmanship not only fulfilled the needs of many but also added to the aesthetic and functional beauty of homes throughout the area. His expertise in construction was highlighted by an impressive career that spanned many years, during which he built not just buildings but lasting relationships with those he served.

In addition to his professional endeavors, Garnett served with honor in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict. His military service reflects his commitment to his country and the values of duty and sacrifice.

Garnett is remembered fondly by his wife, Norma Ward, and his daughter, Teresa Ann Ward, who were pivotal figures in his life. His family provided him with love and support, creating a nurturing environment filled with cherished memories.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lelus G. and Stella Seagraves Ward, and his son, Steven Ward, both of whom held a special place in his heart. Their memories continue to resonate within his family's lives, honoring their legacy through the values they instilled.
