Edward Leon Minish

Edward Leon Minish, born on August 13, 1944, in Commerce, Georgia, passed away peacefully on December 13, 2025, in his beloved hometown. Edward was a devoted husband, father, brother, and grandfather whose presence will be profoundly missed by all who knew him.

Throughout his life, Edward served with honor in the United States Army, showcasing his commitment to his country. He was recognized for his service and will be celebrated with a funeral service that includes military honors, a testament to his dedication and sacrifice.

Within his family, Edward leaves behind his beloved wife, Peggy Smith Minish, who stood by his side through all of life’s moments. He is also survived by his son, Eddy Minish, and daughter, Gina Denton, who carry forward his legacy. Edward cherished his role as a family man, and his love will continue to resonate through his six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Edward was deeply loved by his sisters, Mary Jane Cadwell, Helen Adams, June Bellew, and Naomi Denton, who have shared countless memories and experiences with him over the years.

He was preceded in death by his father, Roland Minish, and his mother, Reba Hanley Minish, who provided him with the foundational values that shaped his character.

Visitation for Edward will be held on December 16, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Ivie Funeral Home, located at 1053 S. Elm Street, Commerce, GA. A funeral service will take place on December 17, 2025, at 11:00 AM, also at Ivie Funeral Home. Following the service, Edward will be laid to rest at Grey Hill Cemetery.
