David Saxon

David Saxon, a cherished husband, father, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on January 1, 2026, at the age of 68, surrounded by his loved ones in Commerce, Georgia. Born on November 21, 1957, in Danielsville, Georgia, David led a life marked by dedication, love, and an enduring passion for sweets, particularly cookies.

For many years, David worked as an Equipment Operator for Riversand Inc., where his skills and work ethic earned him the respect of his colleagues. His professional life was complemented by a deep commitment to his family and community. A devout member of the Baptist Tabernacle on Athens Highway, David found joy and fulfillment in his faith, which directed his values and actions.

David is survived by his beloved wife, Carrie Saxon, with whom he shared 24 wonderful years of marriage. Together, they raised a vibrant family that includes their sons, Jody Paul Saxon and Matthew Dillon Saxon; their daughters, Jamie Jeanette Saxon and April Marie Saxon; and his brother, Daniel Saxon. He also leaves behind three adoring grandchildren and several nieces and nephews, who all carry fond memories of his warmth and kindness.

He was preceded in death by his father, Leadus Saxon, and his mother, Jamie Ray Saxon, alongside his sisters, Minthy Shober and Mirian Barrett. The legacy of love he fostered during his lifetime will continue to resonate through the lives of all who knew him.
