Hull, GA

Bobbie Jean Baxter Cowart, known and treasured by many as Bobbie Jean, passed away peacefully on July 24, 2026, in Winterville, Georgia, at the age of 81. Born on July 22, 1945, in Madison County, Georgia, she lived a life marked by devotion to her family, steadfast faith, and dedication to her work and community.

Bobbie Jean was the beloved daughter of Ellis Baxter and Lois Bennett Baxter, both of whom preceded her in death. She later married James Cowart, her cherished husband, with whom she built a loving household. Together, they raised two sons, Tony David Cowart and James Paul (Melony) Cowart, who survive her and continue to honor her memory through their lives and values.

Family remained at the center of Bobbie Jean’s life. She is lovingly remembered by her brothers, Billy (Judy), Wayne, and Mike (Jill) Baxter, whose bonds with her were a source of strength and affection throughout their lives. Her legacy also lives on through her grandchildren: Serenity (Andy) Jones, Sydney Cowart, and James Cowart, each of whom brought joy and pride into her later years.

Professionally, Bobbie Jean dedicated herself as a Data Clerk, a career from which she retired after years of reliable and diligent service. Her commitment to thoroughness and integrity set an example for those who worked alongside her and appreciated her attention to detail.

Faith was a guiding force for Bobbie Jean. As a devoted member of the Full Gospel Holiness Church, and Bible Way Church of God, she found spiritual grounding, community, and deep friendships that enriched her life. Her presence within the church was one of kindness and encouragement, always seeking to uplift those around her.

In her passing, Bobbie Jean joins her husband, James Cowart, and her parents, Ellis and Lois Baxter, in eternal rest. Though her loss is deeply felt, especially by those who had the privilege of knowing her gentle spirit, her memory will forever be cherished by family, friends, and all who were touched by her warmth and generosity.
