Betty W. David

Betty Jo Whitsel David, age 86 of Commerce, GA passed away Sunday, Sept. 6, 2020.

Born on Jan. 17, 1934 in Commerce, GA, Mrs. David was the daughter of the late Andy and Belle Roberts Whitsel. She was the widow of Marvin David, a textile worker with Harmony Grove Mill, a member of Rogers Baptist Church, and was preceded in death by a son, Tony Marcus Cobb; an infant daughter; brothers, Talford Whitsel, Ralph Whitsel, Thomas “Tommy” Whtisel; and a sister, Elizabeth Seay.

Survivors include a daughter, Jackie Baird, three grandchildren, Shane Cobb, Cecil Baird, Christy McKnight, and six great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held 2 PM Friday, Sept. 11, 2020 at Jackson Memorial Park with the Rev. Larry Dyer officiating. The family will receive friends 6-8 PM Thursday at the funeral home.
