Albert Lee McLendon, of Commerce, Georgia, passed away peacefully on August 15, 2026, in his hometown. Born on September 19, 1951, in Commerce, Albert lived his life with quiet strength, integrity, and devotion to his loved ones and community.

Albert’s roots in Commerce ran deep, beginning with his birth and formative years spent surrounded by family and friends in the close-knit Georgia town he would call home all his life. He was the treasured son of James McLendon and Jewel Davis McLendon, both of whom preceded him in death, along with his brother Jimmy McLendon. These early bonds shaped Albert into a man known for his resilience and unwavering commitment to those around him.

Albert dedicated many years to a proud and honest career as a textile worker at Mount Vernon Mills. His hard work, reliability, and camaraderie among coworkers left a meaningful mark on both the company and the people with whom he worked. He approached his job with determination and took pride in the contributions he made to an industry that defined much of Commerce’s history and spirit.

Anchored in the Baptist faith, Albert’s beliefs informed his daily life and interactions with others. He was guided by principles of kindness, compassion, and generosity—values that were always evident in his relationships with family, friends, and his community.

Albert is lovingly survived by his daughter, Sabrina McLendon, and his brothers, Robert McLendon and Tommy McLendon. Albert’s legacy also lives on through his niece and nephew, who will remember his steadfast love and gentle guidance.

Albert’s journey is intertwined not only with the tapestry of his family but with the town of Commerce itself—a place where his story began and concluded, surrounded by those who knew and admired him.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects and honor Albert’s memory at a visitation on Saturday, August 29, 2026, from 9:00 am to 11:00 am at Ivie Funeral Home, located at 1053 S. Elm Street, Commerce, GA 30529. A memorial service will follow at 11:00 am at the same location.

Albert Lee McLendon’s life was a testament to hard work, faith, and enduring love for family. He will be deeply missed by those whose lives he touched, and his memory will remain a cherished part of the community he helped shape.
