Ivie Funeral Home announces the passing of Mr. Fred Kay, age 86, of Carnesville who passed away in NEGA Medical Center on Monday evening, June 15, 2015. He was the son of the late Harrison and the late Vastie McDuffie Kay and was also predeceased by a brother, Morris Kay. Mr. Kay attended Tates Creek Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Jean Kay of the home, one son, Jerry Kay also of the home and one daughter, Dianne (Dwayne) Ivey of Carnesville. He is also survived by four grandchildren, Casey (Morgan) Ivey of Homer, Chad (Brittany) Ivey of Toccoa, Mike (Amanda) Ivey of Carnesville and Chris (Amber) Ivey of Dahlonega. Five Great Grandchildren, Austin & Dakota Ivey of Carnesville, Cadence Ivey of Dahlonega, and Alli Kay & Colsen Ivey of Toccoa. Services for Mr. Fred Kay will be held on Thursday afternoon at 2PM from the Chapel of Ivie Funeral Home with the Rev. Jerrell Beatty officiating. Burial will be in the Nails Creek Cemetery. The family will receive friends in the funeral home on Wednesday evening from 6-9 PM.
