Ivie Funeral Home, Madison County Chapel in Danielsville, announces memorial services for Bennie James Scott, 87, of Athens who passed away on Sunday at the University Nursing Home in Athens. Born in Athens, he was the widower of Frances Howard Scott. Survivors include his children, Patricia Jordan, Sallie Smith and Darnell Scott, all of Athens and Larry Scott of Hull and a number of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other relatives. Memorial services are scheduled for Thursday at 11 AM from the chapel of Ivie Funeral Home in Danielsville with Rev. Tommy Cowart and Rev. Derick Jackson officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home after the service. They also request that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Family Worship Center; POB 80852; Athens, GA 30608.
