Gwynola Bertha Wheeler Smitherman, age 88, of Athens, GA passed away Monday, June 19, 2017.
Born in Commerce, GA, Mrs. Smitherman was the daughter of the late Charlie A. and Bertha Purcell Wheeler. She worked at Bluebell and as a greeter at Walmart. Also, she worked in the receiving department at Sears where she retired.
Survivors include three sons, Bob Evans, Homer, Billy Evans, Alto, Howell O'Dillon, Crawford; a step-son, Dennis O'Dillon, Daytona, FL; sister, Jetterde Hull, Spencerville, IN; 5 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, and 5 great great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm Thursday, June 22, 2017 at Ivie Funeral Home Chapel, Commerce, GA. Burial will follow in Evergreen Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends 12-2 pm Thursday prior to the service at the funeral home.
