Carl Simpkins Obituary
Carl Appleton Simpkins, age 90 of Commerce, GA passed away Monday March 28, 2016 after a brief illness.
Mr. Simpkins was born in Carroll County on Oct. 29, 1925 to the late David A. and Ethel Key Simpkins. He is preceded in death by a brother, 2 sisters and a daughter, Pamela Simpkins; and was a veteran of WWII and Korea.
After retiring from 30 years with Kraft Foods he became active in the planning and maintaining of Unicoi Spring Camping Resort in Helen, GA. Unicoi provided him much enjoyment and many lifelong friends.
Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Sybil Tucker Simpkins, of the residence; a son, Dennis "Bo" (Nancy) Simpkins, Suwanee; a daughter, Cindy Wells, Commerce; 3 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
Graveside Services will be held at 3:30 pm Wednesday March 30, 2016 in the Grey Hill Cemetery, Commerce, GA with the Dr. Carlton Allen officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:30-3:30 pm Wednesday prior to the service at the funeral home.
